YOUTH, MEDIA AND POLITICS

In order to respond to the needs of youth, and to guarantee that their basic human rights are recognized and enforced, youth’s active and meaningful participation in their societies and in democratic practices and processes is of crucial importance.Meaningful youth participation and leadership require that young people and young people-led organizations have opportunities, capacities, and benefit from an enabling environment and relevant evidence-based programmes and policies at all levels.Opportunities for youth to engage in governance and participate in political and decision-making processes depend largely on the political, socio-economic, and cultural contexts. And we are really fortunate that we are living in a nation which has youth in the largest number. We are also fortunate in the way that we are able to express ourselves irrespective of anything and have got the wonderful opportunity to deliver our information to the masses.Realizing youth's right to participate and be included in democratic processes and practices is also vital to ensure the achievement of internationally agreed development goals and to refresh the development agenda. These days it is undeniable growth of interest of youth in politics. Youth can influence the world through politics by being substantially and consiously present in their everyday lives in the areas that involve not only politics but beyond. The youth has the most power in regards to empowering, educating and voting for the change that they want to see in the world.
However, in the world of information and it's sources , it is undeniable that youth are not the part of mass media. The media are a ubiquitous presence in the lives of contemporary youth. Moreover, developments in communications technology bring the media into young people’s reach as never before. With the rise of digital platforms and the growth of the Internet, the amount of time young people spend engaging with the media has risen significantly.A wide range of social, economic, and political forces contribute to the way youth is defined and understood, but the media play a crucial role as well. They influence social attitudes toward youth as well as young people’s perception of themselves.
