It is that time of the year again to put up our warm greetings on social media on the eve of Daughter's Day.We will be sending sweet messages to all the daughters wishing them all a Happy Daughter's Day. Today is their day, after all.
Tomorrow, we can behave in our own ways with them again.Tomorrow, when it's no longer Daughter's Day, we can deny women equality. We can go back to the routine of harassing women for their choice of clothes, and threatening them with rape and acid attacks for expressing their opinions.Tomorrow, we will go back to making this world a less comfortable place for women to live in, one way or the other.
We believe that women can fly, but we cannot accept the reality that women too have wet dreams and fantasies. That women too, like men, can like sex, and that is normal.If you are a woman who calls herself a feminist, people will slam you. People have invented a new word for those who talk too much on feminism i.e 'feminazi'.
Because we just don't understand feminism which means that men, women and people of all other genders are equal and deserve the same rights.Since it is Daughter's Day, we will cheer 'Girl Power'. We will solemnly swear to support women's rights, fight against gender-biased violence, and eradicate practices like trafficking, female foeticide, flesh trade, etc. However, will also draw a line. Because our women, after all, should be sanskaari.
Women have the right to vote but have the right to decide what you want to do with your own body. Women can step out of the house and have a career. But mind it, they'll be judged at every step of the way.
Women have the freedom of choice. Well, some what. Because no matter what they choose, they will be expected to be the master of all trades. They will be expected to excel at their job and master at raising a family at the same time. She is a woman, after all. She has to be a superwoman, she wants to or not. It is expected that women shouldn't raise their voices as it's so un-ladylike! Woman also have to be equally modern and traditional, by the way, because that is what makes her a complete woman.
So #DAUGHTERS, let's celebrate this hypocrisy !
